Our Journey
Sylvester JR Contractors Limited (trading as SC Recruitment) has been operating as a Recruitment Agency, Labour-hire, and Contractor company in New Zealand since 2020. It was founded and owned by Sylvester Tonga, a New Zealand Citizen with Tongan heritage.
I, Sylvester Tonga, currently live and operate this business in Auckland. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy, and a Master's Degree (MCS) from Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
I started this company from home office with a dream and passion to become a bridge for the unemployed, especially my Pacific people who are seeking jobs. Secondly, I plan to expand this work one day from recruitment and labour hire into operating contractors' work, such as house painting, concrete work and construction. Thirdly, to provide more working opportunities for people in the Kingdom of Tonga and our Pacific countries.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and trust that our clients have given us from day one. Sylvester JR Contractors also built a working relationship with Calder Stewart Construction over the years by supplying labour hire. Sylvester JR Contractors is also a member of the AMOTAI Organisation and the Site Safe New Zealand.
Throughout the years of hard work, commitment, and determination, we have successfully overcome numerous business and financial challenges. Sylvester JR Contractors Limited has opened its new Office at Unit 2, 26 Porana Road, Wairau Valley, Auckland 0632, with three office staff to assist with recruitment, labour hire, and contractor services.
Lastly, our painting contractors specialise in both private and commercial house painting, including interior and exterior painting, roof and floor painting, timber staining, plastering, and spray finishing. Our painting supervisor and the team have over 20 years of painting experience in New Zealand.

Foundation of SC RECRUITMENT
SC RECRUITMENT was established with a vision to connect talented individuals with thriving businesses in New Zealand.
From humble beginnings, SC Recruitment started in 2020 from Sylvesters home office, working with local and international brands to be recognized as a friendly approachable family orientated business.
2021
Expansion into New Markets
We expanded our services to include specialized recruitment for the construction and engineering sectors.

Coming from Tongan Heritage, Sylvester and Tute Tonga decided to start a Recruitment business supplying laborers and workers for Construction and trade industries. Over the years SC Recruitment have grown from a home office to a fully functioning office located in Wairau Valley. We are steadily building a solid foundation to supply great workers for projects in New Zealand and across the Pacific Region.
